From 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm
Join Paul Miller, Island Heritage Trust’s Executive Director and lifelong birder, for a discussion about the birds we can see during the winter on Tuesday, February 11th at 4:30 pm.
Now that winter is underway we may think warmly of early summer mornings and the birds that start singing their chorus well before sunrise. Most of those birds have migrated south to warmer climates until their eventual return in the spring. But many birds remain here through the winter. Some even migrate here from more northerly areas making Deer Isle their ‘south for the winter’. We’ll talk about the birds that we can see and enjoy during this challenging time of year. From backyard feeders to interesting ducks in coves, there are plenty of birds in and around Deer Isle during winter.
