An evening of stories with Dr. Chuck Radis
From 7.00 pm until 8.00 pm
Dr. Chuck Radis started his medical career as a primary care physician on Peaks Island and made over 100 yearly house calls to the outer islands of Casco Bay. His newly published memoir, Go By Boat: Stories of a Maine Island Doctor, recounts his experience providing primary care to the year-round residents on Peaks and Chebeague Islands and reaching many more patients off the beaten path. Dr. Radis left his medical practice on Peaks Island for fellowship training in clinical immunology/rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh’s Presbyterian University Hospital and then returned to Maine to practice rheumatology. He has lived on Peaks Island for over three decades, commuting by boat to the mainland. He and his wife, Sandi Korpela Radis, raised two children, Kate and Molly, who attended Peaks Island grade school and graduated from Portland High School.
The Stonington Public Library is thrilled to host an evening of stories and book signing with Dr. Chuck Radis in the library’s Alfresco Authors series. Bring a bite to eat and a chair down to Small Cove Park, and join us for tales from Dr. Radis’s storied career against the backdrop of Penobscot Bay. Go By Boat will be available for purchase.
