Reading & book signing with local author Kate Hotchkiss
From 12.30 pm until 1.30 pm
Kate Hotchkiss is no stranger to island living. In her childhood, she visited the Maine coast every summer and fell in love with Isle au Haut, and she now splits her time between there and North Haven. Kate draws her inspiration from the area's natural beauty, its history, and its people.
On Harbor's Edge, the first book in her historical series, opens with Mildred's arrival on Popplestone Isle in 1912. Life begins anew for the young bride as she is thrown into her marriage and the island's fishing community. Linda Greenlaw said "On Harbor's Edge hooked me line and sinker...Can't wait for the sequel!"
The Stonington Public Library and The Dry Dock are thrilled to co-host a reading and book signing with Kate Hotchkiss in the library’s Alfresco Authors series. Bring a brown bag lunch and a blanket down to Small Cove Park, and listen to Kate read against the backdrop of Penobscot Bay. On Harbor's Edge will be available for purchase, and one lucky attendee will receive a Book in a Bucket—a copy of the novel in a custom Maine Sea Bag sand dollar sail cloth bucket. A winner will be chosen among attendees in a random drawing; no purchase necessary.
Due to a wet forecast, Kate's reading and book signing has been postponed until Saturday, June 26. We plan to go ahead with next week rain or shine, so we will plan an alternative location/format, if necessary. Please register to ensure you receive any relevant communication about the event.
