A Conversation with Lois Lowry

We are honored to host a conversation with Lois Lowry, two-time Newbery Award medalist. Join the author of The Giver quartet for young adults and Number the Stars, among others, on Friday, July 27 at 4 p.m. upstairs at the Stonington Town Hall. All in the community are invited to share in an intimate discussion with this acclaimed writer about her many books and their memorable characters.

The Giver, first published in 1993, was made into a movie in 2014 and is being widely read again.

If you have never read a book by Lois Lowry, consider joining the book discussion of Number the Stars, on Tuesday, July 24, at 4 p.m. Borrow a copy of the book ahead of time at the library.

Other titles familiar to children include Anastasia Krupnik, All About Sam, The One Hundredth Thing about Caroline, and Gooney Bird Greene. Mature readers will appreciate reading Lowry’s autobiography, Looking Back, A Book of Memories.
