Picture books are so much more than you realize. Celebrate their magic by checking them out at your library this month. How many will you take home? Bet you can’t stop at just one!
We are not the British Library but let’s celebrate one of the literary phenomena of the century. Wizards, as well as muggles, are encouraged to read (reread) the wonderful Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
Hickory, dickory, dock! It’s again time for stories, rhymes, songs and play for the very youngest and their parents. Join us for fun and friendship on Monday, October 16, at 9:30!
Saturday, October 7, 9:00 a.m., come celebrate all that makes fall wonderful…crunchy apples, crackly leaves, and crisp days! Bring a friend and join the fun at the library with stories, crafts, and snacks.
It is exciting to report that 7 people completed the Book Bingo challenge. All had to read 23 books, attend a library event, and convince a friend to read a book.
Winning $50 gift certificates from Blue Hill Books are: Natalie Jones, Nolan Decker and Iris Aldrich.
Because an anonymous donor recognizes the commitment needed to complete this summer challenge, four additional $25 gift certificates will go to: Sam Robbins, the Wendell family, Leslie Landrigan-Miller and Brieanna Barbato.
Congratulations to all for reading, reading, reading all summer!
Mark your calendars now!

All who took up the 2017 Book Bingo summer reading challenge need to get their cards to the library by noon Saturday, September 2, in order to collect prizes. Those who have completed a row, column or diagonal will get a voucher for free ice cream. The voracious readers who have completed their cards–all 25 squares–will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win one of three $50 gift certificates from Blue Hill Books.
In recognition of Labor Day (and the need to give a rest to Jill Larrabee, our story hour volunteer extraordinaire), story time will not be held this Saturday, September 2. Instead, stop in the library and borrow a book about work and perseverance. Here are a few of our favorites:
Regular story times, the first Saturday of each month, will resume on October 7.
Read and win a prize!
