Tom Schmeelk, forest entomologist at Maine Forest Service, answered all our questions and then some about the browntail moth at an open-air presentation in Small Cove Park yesterday. It’s not too late to remove and destroy BTM webs before the weather warms up, but the window of opportunity is becoming increasingly small. Tom generously agreed to share his PowerPoint presentation online and to spread the word as wide as possible. We highly encourage you take some time from your day to understand the risk BTM poses and what you can do to minimize that risk.
