The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Jill Larrabee of Stonington has been selected as the library’s new director. Sandra Ward, President of the Board, noted that “it’s an exciting time and I feel we are making an investment in our future and am confident Jill will serve us with distinction.” Jill has served on the Board of Trustees for three years. She not only volunteered to be the Board’s recording secretary, but served as a driving force on the Programs and Outreach Committee. She volunteered countless hours planning story hours, designing floats, and creating interesting exhibits for the library.
In announcing the news, Sandy pointed to the great strides the library has made over the past decade: expanding its collections, increasing its circulation, broadening its programming, fortifying its infrastructure, attracting new visitors and building strong relationships with its patrons, donors and board members. Jill will build on this strong foundation and take the library to even new heights. The library’s future is bright!
